Sometimes, it has so happened that the Google Chrome updates are disabled (by the administrator) where the browser never be able to install the updates. In this article, we will see how to fix this problem by doing simple registry modifications.
The administrator disables the updates may be through policy settings. You can see this on the Google Chrome Help screen.

Follow the below steps to enable software update in the Google Chrome browser, which the administrator blocked. The little configuration change in registry settings solves the problem and allows the Google Chrome browser to receive software updates and get installed automatically.

Click on Windows Start menu and open Run command window.
(or press Windows + R shortcut key).

Open the Windows Registry Editor.

On the Registry Editor screen, navigate to registry folder

Google Chrome Updates are disabled by the administrator

Modify the ÚpdateDefault key value from 0 to 1.

Once the registry value is changed, restart the Google Chrome and see the updates gets installed.
